Everyone should be able to move through our shared public spaces and buildings in a safe and dignified way. In complex environments such as stations, terminals, and other public transport hubs, universal design is not just a feature – it’s a fundamental design principle that ensures equal access and high functionality for all, regardless of physical or cognitive ability.

Skøyen Station
Oslo, Norway
Gottlieb Paludan Architects, in collaboration with L2 Arkitekter, has won the competition to design Skøyen Station on the Fornebu Line in Oslo.
Skøyen station is part of a larger traffic hub where the metro station is connected to an existing station. Optimal connections are created between trains, subways and other modes of transport, including 1000 underground bicycle parking spaces as part of the new station.
